Entrance to Willow Farm Rehoming Unit

On 9th June 2008, the Oxfordshire branch opened a new re-homing unit at Willow Farm, Chilton, near Didcot, Oxfordshire. The unit can accommodate up to 20 cats, and 10 rabbits or guinea pigs, with state-of-the art cat pens and hutches, plus reception and quarantine units for in-coming animals, prior to veterinary examination and assessment.

Willow Farm is managed by branch trustee, Ingrid Smith who, with Animal Care assistants Jo and Elaine, plus a team of volunteer helpers, provide 24 hour care for the rescued animals.

Due to the proximity of the unit to Chilton village, we are unable to receive visitors on a casual basis but if you would like to give a loving home to one of our animals, please contact us on 01235 821536 to arrange a visit.

OPEN DAY
On Sunday 21st September, Willow Farm held its first Open Day, which was a huge success.

It is estimated that we had well over 200 visitors through our gates on a very fine sunny day; they all enjoyed looking at our cats and rabbits (and an American Buzzard courtesy of ACO Dennis Lovell), the various craft stalls, and our various fundraising stalls - they also definitely enjoyed the cream teas on offer.  Most importantly, our visitors generously helped us raise £734 from stalls and donations.

Special thanks to everyone involved who helped to organise and run the event.

ADOPTION ANIMALS
By adopting and re-homing a rescue animal from Willow Farm, you will be transforming the life of an animal, whose life to date has perhaps not been a happy one, and you will gain immense satisfaction in the process.

Millie has been at Willow Farm longer than any of our other cats.  She has had a very troubled past, and can get upset and frightened easily if she thinks someone is going to hurt herthis may make people rather nervous, but she is much more frightened.
Millie c
annot cope with children or other pets, but someone who understands her, has lots of patience and can give Millie her own space when she needs it, would be her dream come true.

Juno was abandoned with her kitten - Osiris; they were left with no food or water, and Juno found a kitten too much to cope with.
Juno is very friendly and affectionate, although she can get excitable at times.  She is a very clean and tidy cat.
Juno is looking for a new and loving home once she has been vaccinated and neutered.

Tigger grew up in a very crowded house and lots of the other cats bullied him, and his owners didn’t notice he was being bullied. Tigger is still nervous with people so may hiss at them, but we don’t take much notice of that here at Willow Farm and still give him strokes, which he may get used to in time. Tigger has been befriended by Osirus, who is slowly bringing him out of his shell and giving him confidence.  Tigger and Osirus will need a new home together.

Osiris had to be taken away from his mother - Juno while at Willow Farm.
Osiris has since befriended Tigger and they are contented together.  Osiris is friendly and affectionate, although as he is still a young boy his play can get slightly boisterous at times.
When Osirus has finished his vaccinations and been neutered, he and Tigger will need a new home together.

Ling and Jing are two sibling kittens who were picked up as strays by our Inspectors; both were in a poor state of health (with fleas and worms), but with our care at Willow Farm they are now thriving.
The pair are slightly nervous, but are quickly becoming well-socialised and are full of the mischief of all kittens.
Ling and Jing will be looking for a new loving home together when they have finished their vaccinations.
